Live, local music at the Library!
Come enjoy the creative rhythms and beautiful melodies of the Samba Soul band. Their rich repertoire ranges from classical Brazilian music to contemporary samba and MPB (Brazilian popular music) songs. The band takes inspiration from the legends of Brazilian samba and popular music, such as Elis Regina, Joao Gilberto, Clara Nunes, and Tom Jobim as well as singers such as Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald.
Samba Soul draws its talent from a specially selected group of skilled musicians. George Turner (guitar), Armand Beaudoin (bass), Chip McNeil (saxophone), and Ricardo Flores (drums), share the stage with the Brazilian vocalist, Vivian Felicio. Together, they create vibrant, rhythmic sounds and a unique stage presence, which appeals to both local and international audiences.
All ages are welcome!
UFLive! concerts take place on the third Sunday of most months and are made possible through the generous support of The Urbana Free Library Foundation.
