Enjoy this performance featuring a rich variety of music from Latin America.
Kick off the weekend with the vibrant melodies and amazing rhythms of the Latin American Ensemble. This performance group from the University of Illinois performs Latin American music from all over the Americas, including North, Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean. Bring a friend and join us (and if you find yourself dancing or swaying along to the music, we won't mind)!
The group is directed by Dr. Guido Sánchez-Portuguez, an accomplished musician and educator who is currently the guitar professor at the University of Illinois School of Music. He continues to compose, as well as perform both locally and internationally.
Co-sponsored by the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
Conveniently located at the corner of Race and Green in downtown Urbana.
