The Lewis Auditorium

Join us for Teen Open Lab!

The Lewis Auditorium at The Urbana Free Library becomes the Teen Open Lab most Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons. Each week, Teen Open Lab will feature activities based on a specific theme: PLAY, CREATE/DESIGN, BUILD/CONSTRUCT, and WRITE/DIRECT/PRODUCE. (If there is a 5th week, the theme will be chosen by the teens). Makerspace materials like sewing machines, 3D printers, vinyl sticker cutters, etc. will always be available regardless of the week.

1st Full Week: PLAY

Board games
Video games — Switch, PS4, and Wii
Online games
Instruments — Guitar/bass (acoustic and electric), banjo, keyboard, electric drum set
Etc.

2nd Full Week: CREATE/DESIGN

Drawing/coloring/painting
Sewing
Fiber arts
Paper crafts
Etc.

3rd Full Week: BUILD/CONSTRUCT

LEGO
Domino runs
Marble tracks
Cardboard structures
Etc.

4th Full Week: WRITE/DIRECT/PRODUCE

Writing — fiction, poetry, music, scripts, etc.
Stop motion
Short-form videos
Music recording
Etc.
