Join artist, dancer, and poet Ja Nelle Davenport-Pleasure for a workshop that shows young poets how to unlock their voices and play with words!
Join local poet Ja Nelle Davenport-Pleasure for a poetry workshop for children where kids will write short descriptive lines and use a variety of methods to combine them into poems. Activities will encourage creativity and having fun with words.
For more than three decades, Ja Nelle Davenport-Pleasure has immersed herself in the arts. She started out performing in spoken word competitions at the age of 11, and she used that platform to overcome her fear of public speaking. Her newest book of poetry – Splitting 650 – came out in 2021.
