Join artist, dancer, and poet Ja Nelle Davenport-Pleasure for a workshop that shows young poets how to unlock their voices and play with words!
Join us for the next installment of our Young Artist’s Studio where children will learn how to make short poems and let their creativity fly! Local poet Ja Nelle Davenport-Pleasure will lead the workshop where kids will write short descriptive lines and use a variety of methods to combine them into poems. Activities will encourage creativity and having fun with words.
Want to share your poem with everyone in Urbana? Submit it to the Library’s Poems Across Urbana project! The project will print short (2-4 lines) original poems on signs to be displayed throughout Urbana in August and September. If your poem is chosen, you’ll receive a sign that includes you poem for display.
