Get inspired by the life and work of self-taught African American artist Horace Pippen and the poetry of Janice N. Harrington. Then, we invite you to choose from our art supply buffet to create your own artwork (collage, paint, colored pencils, and more).
Our special guest for this program is poet, author, and professor Janice N. Harrington. She is author of many award-winning poetry books and children’s books and will read from her book Primitive, which is about the creativity and experiences of the artist. Janice has worked as a public librarian and now teaches in the creative writing program at the University of Illinois.
