More Than a Book Club: Braiding Sweetgrass

Book discussion with experiences in nature and a chance to cook together.

We will use the award-winning author Robin Wall Kimmerer’s book Braiding Sweetgrass over three sessions to spark good conversation, enjoy nature together and share some delicious food. Physical copies of
the book will be provided to all registered participants and will be available for pick-up from The Urbana Free Library on September 15. Digital copies are also available for download online.

• Sep 29: Meet at Anita Purves Nature Center to discuss first two sections of the book and to enjoy a forest sensory walk.
• Oct 6: Meet at Phillips Recreation Center for a cooking session of a Potawatomi recipe featuring the Three Sisters.
• Oct 13: Meet at Phillips Recreation Center to view and discuss a video of author Robin Wall Kimmerer.

Registration opens on August 3rd and is required to participate.
