Join author Hal Hassen in a lecture on gravestone imagery.
Genealogists are no strangers to cemeteries. Researchers often explore them looking for answers. While the writing on gravestones can solve a mystery, studying the images on them may evoke more questions. Join us this summer evening for a presentation by Hal Hassen, co-author of Cemeteries of Illinois: A Field Guide to Markers, Monuments, and Motifs. Mr. Hassen's presentation will cover the types and styles of gravestone images found in Illinois and how they have changed over time.
The presentation will begin at 7:00 pm (CST). Want some extra time to talk about genealogy? Log on as early as 6:30pm to socialize and get to know other family historians in our group.
Co-sponsored by the Champaign County Genealogical Society.
Conveniently located at the corner of Race and Green in downtown Urbana.
