Intermediate Genealogy Workshop with Monique Rivera.
Join genealogist Monique Rivera as she delves into genealogy beyond the basics. This workshop is intended for those who already have a foundational knowledge of genealogy, or have participated in our introduction to genealogy workshop.
Originally from Key West, Florida, Monique earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish language, with a concentration in French language and phonetics while studying in France, and a master's degree in Library and Information Science from The iSchool at Illinois. Over the past 20 years, she has held numerous positions: as a foreign language educator; translator; event coordinator; and project manager. Since 2006, she has worked at the University of Illinois and currently serves as co-director of engagement at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Her family history research focuses on ancestral ties to Cuba, the Canary Islands, and Spain, as well as Scotland, Ireland, and England.
